The Decorah School Wellness team created Yoga in the Classroom videos to enable teachers to easily bring yoga into the classroom. Yoga (mindful movement) has many benefits , including flexibility, a calm mind, improved self-esteem, and increased focus. There are several videos for elementary and middle school.
Ways to Use “Yoga in the Classroom”
● First thing in the morning to set a tone of calm and focus for the day.
● After lunch/recess to bring focus back to the classroom.
● At the end of the day to relax after a long school day.
● Before tests/quizzes to reduce anxiety and improve attention.
