I am officially signing off today as I check out of AmeriCorps and move back home to Des Moines. I am sure that during my four hour drive home many memories will cross through my head as I reflect on all that I have learned and discovered during my term of service. I have had the most amazing experience working with the Food and Fitness Initiative and and serving this beautiful part of Iowa. The work that is being done here in schools with FFI is essential in developing healthy kids, schools and communities and I hope that it will continue for many, many years to come.
My next adventure awaits me in the Italy as I will be venturing to Tuscany to work on a farm called Spannocchia. Whether I find myself caring for hogs, harvesting vegetables or learning how to make wine and olive oil, I know that I will miss everyone who I have met in Decorah and especially all of the folks at FFI. Thank you for letting me have this opportunity and I hope that one day in the future we can all collaborate together again on food and fitness projects. Keep up the great work!!
