The Postville Food Bank recently purchased a new cooler so they can increase the amount of dairy products and fresh produce offered to families. Grocery delivery service offered to Postville
Tico Market in Elgin, owned and operated by Tim and Colletta Harnisch, is a full-service grocery store which carries a complete line of fresh meat and produce. The store also offers a delivery service to all residents who live within a 15 mile radius of Elgin. The Harnisch’s have reached out to cover Postville residents as they realize Quillin’s grocery closed permanently last week, leaving the town without a grocery store. Continue reading

Farmers Learn to Spit Roast- Asado al Palo
Exploring new methods of food preparation is quickly becoming a tradition for farmers involved in the Northeast Iowa Food and Farm Network. Last year, farmers created a workshop to learn how to pit roast pork; this year, the group learned how to spit roast a lamb in the Patagonian style of Asado al Palo. Continue reading
