Decorah Walking School Bus Students Spread Holiday Cheer

On December 13th, students from the Walking School Bus (WSB) program participated in the 2nd Annual “Walking School Bus Kindness Project.” Each student contributed an item for the trail mix or holiday cards that they made together after school. The group then delivered the cards and trail mix to local volunteers and public servants around the community. In true WSB style, ALL deliveries were made on foot.

“Just like the Walking and Biking School Bus Program, participation in the Annual WSB Kindness Project is growing,” said April Bril, Upper Explorerland’s Safe Routes to School Coordinator. Although the Kindness Project was voluntary, most students from each of the four local WSB routes participated. “What better way to build community than by being kind and thanking some of the community members that help make Decorah so wonderful!”
