Hi! I am Emma Dubay, a FoodCorps Service Member in Oelwein. I am originally from a small town in Vermont, but graduated with a degree in social work from St Olaf College in Northfield, MN. I am so excited to be continuing my exploration of the Midwest, here in Iowa!
I feel passionate about empowering children and families through education and gardening programs, while expanding access to resources so that everyone can eat all the healthy food that they could possibly want! I am motivated to continue learning about the complexities and multi-level realities of food justice to create a food system that is equitable and sustainable.
My passion for working in food access, and with children comes from several years of working on an organic vegetable and flower farm in Vermont, as well as internships in child mental health, and a community action center during college. My ultimate goal is based on my hope to find a way to combine my love of gardening, food justice, and empowering children into a social work career!
If I were a kitchen item, I would be a all-purpose wooden spoon, my favorite of all kitchen utensils!
