This summer, I have partnered with the Elkader Public Library to do a program called Stories in Motion. This program offers kids the opportunity to engage in a literacy program and physical activity. Every Wednesday morning in June, we take a book and take a walk down to Elkader’s Founder’s Park from the library. We read books along the way about health, wellness, and the natural world. I have also been introducing literacy into the school garden, by offering Story-time in the Central Community School Garden on Wednesday evenings in June.
