St. Joe’s Celebrates Catholic Schools Week with Healthy Snacks!

As part of Catholic Schools week, students were asked to think about what it means to treat their body as temple. One way we can take care of ourselves is by putting good food into our body that nourishes and sustains us. On Wellness Tuesday I worked with students from Pre-School all the way up to 8th grade to make a healthy snack with them.

I started out the morning making very berry smoothies. We discussed how smoothies are great for breakfast and as a snack, especially by adding in plain greek yogurt and spinach for protein. Smoothies were made with the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th graders.

The preschoolers, kindergartners, and 1st/2nd grade students made peanut butter yogurt dip to go with apples. They were a huge hit!

The 7th/8th grade made energy bites to fuel them for the rest of their school day.

It was a fun day had by all of the students!
